Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia on a Mammogram

IMAGING FINDINGS: ​

Axillary views demonstrate diffuse, symmetric bilateral axillary lymphadenopathy.
 
WHY IT MATTERS:

1. Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Lymphoma and other lymph node disorders are often initially diagnosed as an incidental finding on a screening mammogram.
2. Make sure your mammographic search pattern includes the axilla on the MLO view.
3. The differential diagnosis for axillary lymphadenopathy depends on whether the enlarged nodes are unilateral or bilateral.
