IDC on Ultrasound

IMAGING FINDINGS:​

​Irregular hypoechoic mass with angular margins.
 
WHY IT MATTERS:

1. When evaluating a mass on breast ultrasound, you are trying to categorize the lesion as either benign or suspicious. If it is suspicious, then a biopsy is required. 
2. Suspicious features on a breast ultrasound include 

       a.  Irregular shape
       b. Not circumscribed margins (angular, microlobulated, indistinct or spiculated)
       c.  Not parallel orientation (taller than wide)
