Suspicious Mass on Breast Ultrasound

IMAGING FINDINGS: ​​

Breast ultrasound shows an irregular hypoechoic mass with angular margins.

WHY IT MATTERS:

1. Masses on ultrasound are divided into worrisome or non-worrisome (benign) features.
   
2. Margin analysis is the most important feature. However, the shape, echogenicity and orientation also matter.
   
3. Non-circumscribed margins are suspicious on breast ultrasound. This includes angular, indistinct, microlobulated or spiculated margins.
